Police Holding Cell

This small building is the actual 1920s Tea Tree Gully Police holding cell. The two person 'portable' building has been 'hidden' for years behind what is now a private residence. Moving to the Museum site has allowed its preservation and viewing by the public.

Launch: August 2016. Garden Grove provided transport. A local resident contributed to restoration by our volunteers.

Blacksmith Shop

The blacksmith shop represents the premises of a working blacksmith and wheelwright. Also included is a display of the tools of a local shipwright. On Heritage Sundays, out of fire danger season, a blacksmith will be demonstrating their trade. Traditional wheel construction tools are on display outside.

Launch: October 2014. Our volunteers constructed this building from recycled materials in 2012 and then outfitted it.
