This event celebrated the 170th anniversary of a ‘select ball’ conducted at the Highercombe Hotel (initial name of the Museum). Dance cards were distributed to 143 visitors. Sandy Whitelaw, Curator of the NTSA Costume Collection, provided several examples of ball gowns of the era.
Five times over the day she taught the Sir Roger de Coverley dance – a fun experience for all involved. Rules and etiquette of the day were displayed along the hall.
